Good, Better, Best: Making Your 3D Shots Stand Out in a Crowded Market
Date: Wednesday 6th June 2012
Time: 7:00pm to approx 8:00pm
For June and July Events this year, Metro has generously offered us a home while the CoFA building site closes EG02 (our venue of recent years). Please travel that extra few blocks up Oxford Street to Paddington Town Hall and the Chauvel Cinema where you will find us in the Studio at Metro (a great place to know about as it offers excellent short courses in filmmaking and digital techniques).
Speaker: Andrew Silke
What’s it all about:
Andrew Silke is an award winning animator and 3d generalist whose credits include: Avatar, the Harry Potter films and the Happy Feet movies. An AFI nominee and the creator of the short films Cane-Toad and Samurice, both which featured in the SIGGRAPH Electronic Theatre, Andrew will speak to ACM SIGGRAPH (Sydney Professional Chapter) members about what it takes to turn competent work into excellent work.
Andrew is passionate about passing on what he has learned from working in world class studios around the world and has written many popular tutorials. His animation rigs are used by thousands of animators around the world and he was the founder of the not-for-profit 3D training web videos, GuerrillaCG.
Andrew also works as an independent CG trainer and mentor whose goal is to enable his students to stand out in a competitive job market, extending their abilities well beyond the student level and positioning them for professional positions within the CG industry.
