Acting for Animators: A conversation with director and actor Russell Cheek
Date: Wednesday 1st April 2009
Time: 7:00pm to approx 8:00pm
Venue: Elwynn Lynn Conference Centre, College of Fine Arts (CoFA), Selwyn St, Paddington
Speaker: Russell Cheek
What’s it all about?
Russell Cheek has performed in theatre, feature film and television working with directors Barrie Kosky, Neil Armfield for the Sydney Theatre Company in addition to writing and directing for live performance in Australia and overseas. Recommended to us as ‘the best acting teacher I ever had’, Russell is going to talk about physical performance, and what can make performance alive and interesting from actor, director and audience perspective.
For those who are serious about character animation and understanding that animation IS performance, this is a unique opportunity to join a conversation about acting, directing and how to bring this oldest of art forms to creating great animation.
