Daniel is a software developer in the R&D department at Animal Logic
where he works on graphics tools. His recent contributions may been seen
in Sucker Punch and Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.

He regularly attends events held by Sydney ACM SIGGRAPH and other organisations that provide support for emerging digital artists, producing content for film and video games.

Nomination Statement:
Hi board members, I served on the board last year (2010 / 2011), as a member at large. I wish to continue the support I have given chiefly around assisting event setup, and attendee processing. I am of course happy to help in other ways as required, if and when the opportunity came about.

Bill had 15 years of experience working for Apple as firstly Technical Support Engineer and later as a Systems Engineer, specialising in the Video, Broadcast and Publishing markets. Bill has been trained in Shake, Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion, Combustion, Apple server products and Vectorworks, but is experienced in a wide range of other software packages.

Bill has worked on a review panel for the University of Wollongong Masters of Digital Media as well as a speaker at the Australasian Music Business Conference. He has also acted as a consultant to Channel 7, Channel 9, and SBS. In the early days of Apple’s entry into the professional video market, Bill provided technical support for many of the Australia post-production houses such as Animal Logic, Rising Sun Pictures, and Fuel.

Nomination Statement:
Provide a contact at COFA for the SIGGRAPH NSW chapter, as well as providing facilities at COFA to support the SIGGRAPH meetings and assist with the running of the meetings.

I’d like to continue the work of the Sydney chapter as Chair. The chapter serves the local community largely through providing career information to individuals wanting to enter the computer graphics industry and this is the work I’d like to see continue.

My goal as Vice Chair has been to ensure that our program makes access to the digital visual effects industry as great as possible for people of all backgrounds. Since its establishment as an industry, the diversity that we draw from in terms of talent, training and experience has enriched the field and our strength lies in continuing to nurture and develop the potential of our membership for a role in digital visual effects.

Nomination Statement:
I’d like to continue to improve communications amongst members of the chapter, and to promote and expand attendance to our events.

She has more than twenty-five years industry experience as a professional in the fashion and management sectors of the design industry, as well as nineteen years experience as a design and digital media educator and curriculum developer in TAFE NSW.

Tracey holds a Masters in Art and Design Education and a Bachelor of Art Education from the College of Fine Arts (COFA), Sydney, as well as a number of VET qualifications in a variety of design, digital media and educational disciplines.

Tracey was the recipient of the Award for Excellent Service to Public Education and Training in 2004.

Tracey is currently the Treasurer of the Sydney ACM Siggraph Chapter, and Education and Membership Councillor for the Design Institute of Australia’s NSW chapter.

She is passionate about creating and maintaining excellence in education for the design and digital media industries in Australia.

Nomination Statement:
I have been the Treasurer and Public Officer for the Sydney ACM Siggraph Professional Chapter since its inception in 2000. I hope to continue in my current role to provide some continuity and stability in the management of the chapter’s finances. I look forward to working with other Board members to ensure that the chapter responds to the wants and needs of its members, and enjoys continued futher growth in membership over the next two years.

My specialist skills are creating computer graphics and designing and developing custom interactive web applications.

Outside of work, I am interested in digital media and the broadband technologies that deliver digital content.

Innovation is my passion and I have a special interest in technology and education.

I have a keen interest in photography.

Richard holds an Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design from Design Centre Enmore (DCE) and a Bachelor of Adult Education from UTS. He has been at DCE since 2005 as a teacher and head Teacher of Graphic Design & Digital Media and most recently as the Manager of the 3D Animation and Digital Effects courses.

Within skills development Bethany is interested in delivering cutting edge training at Metro Screen across a broad range of interactive graphics programs to up skill existing screen practitioners and train up new ones. In terms of personal interests Bethany is passionate about the Australian screen industry and the renewal of the industry by the discovery and nurturing of new talent.

Complementary to this interest, Bethany has skills in traditional film production, editing, graphic design and online producing, with First Class Honours in Media Arts and Production from the University of Technology, Sydney.
